Methodology

How we test toe spacers

Every product we sell goes through the same process, run by Maya Colton, our foot wellness and barefoot movement coach: measure it, wear it for weeks in real routines, cross-check against verified buyer feedback, and publish the limits alongside the strengths.

Our criteria

  1. Measured, not copied. We measure every product ourselves rather than trusting supplier listings. The dimensions on this site — like our separator tubes at 3 x 1.5 x 2 cm for the small ring and 3.2 x 1.8 x 2.2 cm for the large (our 2026 measurements) — come from our own calipers, because sizing is the number one reason spacers get abandoned.
  2. Softness and comfort. Maya wears each product through real sessions over multiple weeks — evening wind-downs, yoga practice, post-run recovery — following the same gradual schedule we recommend to you. A spacer that stretches pleasantly at minute 5 but rubs at minute 40 fails this criterion, whatever its spec sheet says.
  3. Hold and stability. A spacer that migrates or pops loose mid-session is a bad spacer. We check how the gel pair holds during floor work and how the tubes stay put under a sock inside a wide toe box shoe, the setup from our barefoot shoes guide.
  4. Washability and durability. Spacers live between toes; hygiene matters. We hand-wash every product repeatedly through the test period and reject anything that tears, clouds, or loses its shape after normal soap-and-water care.
  5. Honest limits. Verified buyer feedback is part of the loop: recurring complaints from real orders get investigated and either fixed or published as a known limit. That is why our pages tell you the gel pair is a home and mat tool rather than an all-day walking spacer, and why our Correct Toes comparison concedes the cases where the $65 competitor wins.

What we won't do

We won't market toe spacers as medical fixes — they gently space your toes and may help relieve pressure while worn, and the honest evidence stops roughly there, as we explain in our guide to whether toe spacers work. We won't invent statistics, post fake reviews, or recommend overnight wear to beginners. Instead we back every order with a 30-day money-back guarantee, so the risk is on us, not you. You can read more about the people behind this process on our about page, check verified reviews, see the guarantee terms, or email us with questions before ordering.
